"The knowledge I gained through my minor gave me an advantage over other job candidates. I was selected for a job because I had the background to work with East Asian immigrant communities. It helped me when I was working in the academic world, the nonprofit sector, and in government. All of these roles were quite varied, but I was given the opportunity because of my knowledge of East Asia."
